Chat Translator is a Chrome extension that adds translation directly into chat interfaces. Whether you're on a customer support platform, a messaging app, or any website with a text input, Chat Translator lets you type in your language and send in any language — or read incoming messages translated in place.

When you translate text, the content of that text is sent to a translation provider (DeepL, OpenAI, or Anthropic) via a Cloudflare Worker proxy. No other data is collected or transmitted.
We do not store, log, or retain any translated text. The Cloudflare Worker acts purely as a proxy — it forwards your request to the translation API and returns the result. No database, no logging.
Your settings (preferred language, enabled state, API key if provided) are stored locally in Chrome's sync storage on your device. They are not sent to our servers.
Translation requests are forwarded to DeepL (privacy policy), OpenAI (privacy policy), or Anthropic (privacy policy) depending on your chosen provider. Please review their policies for details on how they handle submitted text.
The extension does not use any analytics, crash reporting, or tracking tools. We do not know who uses the extension or how often.
If you activate a paid license, your license key is sent to our Cloudflare Worker, which validates it against the Lemon Squeezy licensing service. The key is stored locally in Chrome's sync storage after activation.
